August 2002 by Carmen Davis Kirby. Kirby,
an experienced small business owner, wanted
a place where women could find unique, stylish
clothing and accessories in her hometown of
Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Kirby had
previously owned the children's clothing store,
Wiggles and Giggles, but decided to change
direction and focus on women's clothing after
realizing that so many women were traveling
out of town looking for fashionable clothing.
The result was Bella, a boutique with a modern,
sophisticated look and feel.
